Singapore stocks close 0.29 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 8.39 points, or 0.29 percent, to close at 2,880.76.

A total of 1.41 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 820.1 million Singapore dollars (566.9 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 243 to 169, while 692 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 9.15 points, or 0.32 percent, to close at 2,889.15 on Thursday. Enditem
