Vietnam's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism officially launched here Friday a contest to compose posters for the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Year 2017.

The contest is open for all professional and non-professional artists, who are Vietnamese citizens and overseas Vietnamese.

The works, on 54x79 centimeters paper size, must be recently composed and never be sent to any other competitions and never be published in any forms, reported the state-run news agency VNA.

Each artist can send single or multiple works, said the ministry, adding that the works must present the theme of APEC Vietnam 2017 that is "Creating new dynamism, fostering a shared future."

The deadline for contestants to submit their works is Feb. 28, 2017.

Next year, Vietnam will host some 200 APEC activities in 10 provinces and cities nationwide. Among which, the biggest event is APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Vietnam's central Da Nang City in November 2017. This is the second time Vietnam will host the APEC, after having hosted the event previously in 2006. Enditem
