CBA Roundup: Leader Shanghai claim fourth straight win

American Jimmer Fredette's 46 points helped leader Shanghai beat Jiangsu 114-101 in the 22nd round and claimed the fourth straight win at the 2016-2017 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Wednesday.

Shanghai tied with Jiangsu 49-49 at halftime before Shanghai grabbed the lead after the restart and never looked back.

Fredette earned a team-high 46 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Guerschon Yabusele got 19 points. Marshon Brooks of Jiangsu had 45 points and 6 assists.

Xinjiang, the third placed team of last season, lost to Guangsha 100-97 as former NBA player Andray Blatche collected a team-high 43 points and 19 rebounds. Zhou Qi had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Eli Holman and Courtney Fortson of Guangsha combined for 43 points and Lin Zhijie earned 22 points.

Blatche got 5 points to level the game at 83-83 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, but missed a 3-point attempt in last 8.8 seconds.

In Wednesday's other games, Fujian smashed Tongxi 148-129, Sichuan beat Zhejiang 149-124, Liaoning upset Guangzhou 119-98, Jilin lost to Guangdong 119-113, Shandong smashed Tianjin 107-78, Bayi edged Beijing 91-88.

Shenzhen beat Shanxi 123-114 on Tuesday. Endit
