10 killed in road accident in northern Morocco

Xinhua, December 27, 2016 Adjust font size:

Altogether 10 people were killed on Tuesday after a crash between a truck and a car in the northern city of Chefchaouen, local authorities said.

Nine people died on the spot, and the other victim died while being carried to the hospital.

This deadly accident came only two days after another accident that killed nine and left 45 others injured, including 15 in critical conditions.

The accident occurred when a bus, carrying a group of young people, overturned between cities of Fez and Sidi Kacem, said local authorities in Fez.

Deadly traffic accidents are common in the North African country.

Figures from the Moroccan Transport Ministry show that a total of 3,565 people were killed in the country last year. Endit
