-- President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga have been asked not to fuel political tension and animosity that may lead to violence before, during or after the August, 2017 elections.

Religious leaders in their Christmas messages asked the rival groups to embrace dialogue to address their differences rather than engage in confrontation as witnessed last week when parliament approved amendments to the electoral law. The religious leaders also asked the opposition to cancel mass protests they plan to start in January. (Daily Nation)
