The following are highlights of South African major media outlets on Saturday:

--The Western Cape African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) has asked that the waiter who profiled two customers according to their race on a bill keep his job.

The waiter, who is black, was facing suspension by the owners of The Bungalow restaurant in Cape Town following an incident where he wrote "2 Blacks" on a bill as shorthand for identifying customers. (News24).

--One of the questions investors will be asking themselves in January would be whether the dollar is reflecting possible interest rate hikes by the U.S. Federal Reserve in 2017, Adam Phillips of Umkhulu Consulting said Friday.

According to Phillips, many are expecting three rate hikes by the Fed in 2017, but his estimate is there are likely to be only two hikes.(Fin24).

-- At least eight people have been killed in an accident on the N1 highway near Worcester in the Western Cape on Saturday. One child is reported to be in critical condition. The cause of the accident is unclear at this stage.(Eyewitness News) Enditem
