The Islamic State on Tuesday proclaimed responsibility for Berlin Christmas market attack which occurred on Monday evening.

According to the group's Amaq news agency, the attack was carried out by "a soldier of the Islamic State."

On Monday evening, a truck ploughed into a crowded Christmas market in Berlin, leaving at least 12 people dead and some 50 injured.(Germany-IS-Berlin)

WASHINGTON -- The United States on Tuesday slapped additional sanctions on eight more entities and seven individuals linked in relation to the conflict in Ukraine.

The fresh sanctions target companies including Crimean Ports, Crimean Railway and Institut Stroiproekt, a Russian highway construction company, according to a statement by U.S. Treasury Department.

MEXICO CITY -- At least 60 people were injured in an explosion Tuesday at the San Pablito fireworks market in Tultepec, a town in the State of Mexico close to the capital Mexico City, Luis Felipe Puente, the director of Civil Protection, said.

Firefighters and rescue teams from the state and capital converged at the site following the blast around 3 p.m. local time.(Mexico-Explosion-Firefighters )

AMMAN -- Altogether four security forces members were killed on Tuesday in Jordan's southern Karak city in an exchange of fire with a group of gunmen, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
