Israeli forces block Ramallah villages in manhunt for assailants

Israeli forces have blocked roads to villages west of Ramallah city for the second consecutive day in search for assailants, Palestinian sources said Tuesday.

The source told Xinhua that Israeli military forces have shut down the roads to eastern entrance of Rantis village and the two main entrances to Nabi Saleh and Shuqba villages with cement blocks and soil mounds.

According to the sources, the Israeli forces are carrying out search in the three villages after saying that an Israeli vehicle was shot by unknown assailants who ran away toward the Palestinian villages.

Israeli public radio reported Monday that an Israeli was lightly injured in an attack that targeted his vehicle by another car in the opposite direction near the Ofarim settlement in the West Bank.

The radio said that the army is still looking for the assailants.

Meanwhile, Palestinian Prisoners Club (PPC) said that the Israeli army arrested 10 Palestinians during raids in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

PPC explained that the arrests, including children, were focused in Bethlehem city and Rantis village.

No Israeli sources were immediately available to comment on that.

Israeli forces have been storming into Palestinian areas on a daily basis searching for "wanted" Palestinians, while Palestinians said those arrested are mostly civilian. Endit
