The following are highlights of South African major media outlets on Tuesday.

-- The Presidency has confirmed that South African Broadcasting Corporation board chairperson Dr Mbulaheni Maguvhe has resigned. Maguvhe was the last remaining non-executive board member at the public broadcaster. (News24)

-- In the absence of key structural reforms, the risk of a downgrade of South Africa's foreign currency debt to junk status is still a significant threat, BMI Research said in its latest Africa Monitor released on Monday.

"While the mini budget highlighted some progress toward economic reforms, including improving the visa process and reducing instances of rolling blackouts, we do not believe these will be sufficient to assuage investor concerns and bolster near-term growth," said BMI.(Fin24)
