Airstrike kills 8 IS militants in E. Afghanistan

Up to eight militants affiliated with the hardliner Islamic State (IS) group were killed as unmanned plane attacked the armed group's positions in the eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, police spokesman in the province Hazrat Hussain Mashriqwal said Tuesday.

The strike, according to the official, conducted in Nariabu area of Haskimini district on Monday afternoon during which two more militants sustained injuries.

No civilians and security personnel had been hurt in the raid, the official asserted.

IS militants are yet to make comment. Endit
