IRGC officer killed in car bomb attack in Iran

An officer of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps was killed in a car bomb attack in Iran's southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan on Monday, Tehran Times daily reported.

In the attack, lieutenant Hassan Jazini was killed and another IRGC soldier was injured, the report said.

The car bomb was remotely detonated while the IRGC security team was returning from the clashes with the armed militants near the border with Pakistan in the Saravan region.

The militants fled back across the border to Pakistan, the report added. Endit
