Shanghai beat Guangsha 103-87 to crown the winter champion

Shanghai crowned the winter champion of the 2016-2017 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) action after beating Guangsha 103-87 on Sunday at home.

Shanghai started the game with a 13-2 run and finished the first quarter 29-21. The home team kept the lead as Jimmer Fredette and Guerschon Yabusele showed great dominance while Guangsha's Eli Holman fouled out in the last quarter as he got nine points and 14 rebounds in hand.

Fredette finished with a game-high 35 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists, and three other Shanghai players scored double digits.

Guangsha's Courtney Fortson had a team high 26 points, six assists and five rebounds, followed by Hu Jinqiu's 14 points and nine rebounds.

Shanghai's 17 wins and two loses ensured the 2001-2002 CBA champion to crown the winter champion, followed by Guangdong and Xinjiang.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Guangzhou lost to Guangdong 80-101, Bayi was defeated by Shanxi 101-114, Qingdao beat Shandong 93-71, Xinjiang beat Tianjin 104-96, Jiangsu beat Shenzhen 124-116, Jilin lost to Tongxi 106-121, Beijing edged the defending champion Sichuan 105-101, Fujian beat Aolong 134-128, Zhejiang beat Liaoning 100-96.
