Man jailed for sexually abusing child in Finland

A man was sentenced to seven years in prison for raping an underage child, Finnish new agency STT reported on Friday.

According to the Kymenlaakso district court, the 49-year-old man sexually abused the victim for hundreds of times between 2013 to 2016, when the child was 11 to 14 years old.

The offender assaulted the victim by slapping and hair pulling, among other offences.

The man was also found guilty of illegally possessing 15 rifle cartridges.

The district court convicted the man of aggravated rape, aggravated child sexual abuse and assault, as well as minor gun crime.

The court ordered the offender to pay 42,000 euros(43,864.54 U.S. dollars) of compensation to the victim, and legal expenses. Enditem
