Festival of golf and music returs for HSBC Women's Champions

Xinhua, December 15, 2016 Adjust font size:

A trio of international music acts will headline the four-day festival at the 10th HSBC Women's Champions, taking place at the Sentosa Golf Club from March 2-3, 2017.

Immediately after the final putt has been sunk on March 4, day three of the HSBC Women's Champions, music aficionados and golf fans can look forward to an evening of live entertainment to be led off by up-and-coming local acts. A US-based acapella band known for its uniquely soulful sound will follow before the main act, a hugely popular South Korean actor and singer, takes over the stage to get the crowd swinging in well into the evening.

Following the success a year ago when a festival concept of the best in golf, music, and food was introduced for the first time to the prestigious tournament, the international cast of musicians will look to emulate British pop group Take That who delighted fans with their hit singles following a day of enthralling play on the course by the world's leading women golfers.

Giles Morgan, Global Head of Sponsorship & Events for HSBC, said: "This tournament is all about entertainment. On the course, HSBC's Women's Champions has earned a reputation for high drama - think back to February when our winner Ha Na Jang holed a spectacular eagle on the final hole to seal a memorable win, or Paula Creamer's 75 foot date with destiny two years ago.

"We want the entertainment off the course to match the action on it which is exactly why we lined up Take That and MasterChef star Monica Galetti for the 2016 tournament."

Defending champion Ha Na Jang from South Korea has already confirmed her return to Singapore as she tries to become the first player to defend her title at the HSBC Women's Champions. Endit
