Huawei gala celebrates 15 years in Spain

The Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei has celebrated the 15th anniversary of the company's arrival in Spain with a Gala celebration in Madrid.

The event was held on Monday night in the spectacular "Crystal Gallery" in the Cibeles Palace.

Chinese and Spanish dignitaries gathered together to look back on 15 years which have taken Huawei to the forefront of the Spanish telecommunications sector.

Lu Fan, the Chinese Ambassador to Spain, said Huawei is a company of the new generation.

Following its creation 30 years ago, the efforts of its personnel have made Huawei a leader in the communications sector, with international fame, Lu said.

Also speaking at the event, Spain's Minister of Energy, Industry and Tourism, Alvaro Nadal said the beginning of the 21st is the time of the digital revolution.

"It has been changing our lives for the last two decades," he said.

"China and Spain ... want to be main actors in this revolution and in this way the partnership between Huawei and Spanish companies is crucial," said Nadal. Endit
