Iran police to set up headquarters to ensure election security

The Iranian police will establish an ad hoc headquarters to coordinate its efforts to ensure the security of the upcoming presidential election, Tasnim news agency reported Tuesday.

Speaking to the Tasnim on Tuesday, police spokesman General Saeed Montazer-al-Mahdi said that special plans have been devised in preparation for the election.

The headquarters will comprise units from cyber police, security police and other specialized departments, Montazer-al-Mahdi said.

The next Iranian presidential election will be held on May 19, 2017. Endit
