Three people were killed in hand grenade attacks on a restaurant Sunday evening in southern Somalia, police confirmed on Monday.

Police in Kismayo town, the headquarters of Southern state of Jubaland told Xinhua that the attackers hurled two hand grenades at a restaurant in the town killing three people and wounded seven others. (Somalia-Grenade Attack)

GENEVA -- A total of 91,404 men, women, and children have fled the Iraqi city of Mosul since military operations to reclaim one of the Islamic State (IS)'s last strongholds began in October, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said Monday.

Up from 81,108 a week ago, the latest figures from the organization revealed that over 15,200 families have been forced to flee their homes as a result of ongoing fighting in the northern city. (IOM-Iraq-Displacement)

WASHINGTON -- U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Monday picked Goldman Sachs President Gary Cohn as his Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and director of the National Economic Council (NEC).

DAMASCUS -- The Syrian army captured the neighborhood of Sukari southeast of Aleppo city in northern Syria on Monday, reported the pan-Arab Mayadeen TV.
