Tevez nets brace as Boca beat River in Primera Division

Carlos Tevez netted a second-half brace as the Boca Juniors defeated rivals River Plate 4-2 in Argentina's Primera Division on Sunday.

Boca forward Walter Bou opened the the scoring at River's Monumental stadium before Sebastian Driussi and Lucas Alario struck in quick succession for the hosts just before halftime.

Second-half goals to Tevez, who hit the target twice in 19 minutes, and Ricardo Centurion gave the visitors their eighth win of the campaign as they temporarily took top spot in the standings.

River plate, meanwhile dropped to 10th, with just 19 points from 13 matches.

Local media reports said Sunday's match could have been Tevez's last with the Boca Juniors.

The 32-year-old former West Ham, Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus star is rumoured to be moving to Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua. Endit
