One third Bulgarian companies use social media: survey

Almost one third of Bulgarian enterprises, or 31.7 percent, used social media to develop their business activity and enlarge their Internet presence, a survey showed here on Friday.

According to the survey on the information society in enterprises in 2016, 45.9 percent of the big companies in Bulgaria maintained a profile on a social network.

Meanwhile, 50.7 percent of the enterprises maintained their own website, and the figure reached 86.3 percent in the group of the big companies, referring to those companies with with 250 and more employees.

The website mainly presented goods or services (81.4 percent), linked with the enterprise's social media profiles (31.1 percent), as well as offered possibility for online ordering or reservations of goods or services (25.9 percent), according to the survey, which was conducted by the country's National Statistical Institute (NSI).

During the current year 91.3 percent of Bulgarian enterprises had permanent connection with the global network, the NSI said. Enditem
