-- President Uhuru Kenyatta dismissed attempts by the Opposition to unite against his government under a super alliance ahead of the 2017 elections.
Kenyatta laughed off the initiative and said that his Jubilee Party would defeat whatever line-up the Opposition comes up with as he described the competitors as "self-seekers" only interested in distributing key leadership positions among themselves.
The Opposition led by Raila Odinga is currently consulting and is expected to have a formidable alliance by February next year as political campaigns gather pace in the country. (Daily Nation)
