Singapore stocks close 0.09 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 2.73 points, or 0.09 percent, to close at 2,956.13.

A total of 1.81 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.14 billion Singapore dollars (801 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers equate to decliners at 203, while 696 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 0.98 points, or 0.03 percent, to close at 2,958.86 on Thursday. Endit
