Poland's defence forces to be equipped with combat UAVs: defence minister

Xinhua, December 8, 2016 Adjust font size:

Poland's territorial defence forces will be equipped with domestically produced Dragonfly combat Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs), Polish Press Agency reported on Wednesday.

The UAVs will have a range of 10 to 15 kilometres and will be mainly used for urban warfare, Polish Defence Minister Antoni Macierewicz told a meeting at Warsaw's Military Institute of Armament Technology on Wednesday.

The UAVs will probably go into serial production next year, and their delivery to the territorial forces with matching warheads is planned for the end of the next year, Polish Press Agency reported, citing Macierewicz.

Macierewicz also said the territorial units will be equipped with mobile missile launchers and armoured vehicles. Endit
