4 people drown in southern Zambia

Four people have drowned in southern Zambia's Sinazongwe district while six others have survived after a speed boat they were in capsized on a man-made lake, the police said on Tuesday.

The incident happened on Sunday evening on Lake Kariba, which is co-shared with Zimbabwe, according to police spokesperson Esther Katongo.

She said the victims were aged between one year and 53 years and that two bodies were retrieved on Monday while the other two were retrieved on Tuesday.

The boat was carrying 10 people when it was hit by a tempest. Endit
