Four killed in Spanish light aircraft crash

Two adults and two children were killed Sunday in a light aircraft crash in Toledo Province in central Spain, local emergency services have confirmed.

The aircraft, which had taken off from the Cuatro Vientos Airport in Madrid at around 16:00 p.m. (1500 GMT) en-route to the town of Cascais in Portugal, came down at around 16:20 (1520 GMT) in an area known as Canada Real Leonesa in Spain.

The crash was witnessed by a shepherd, who alerted rescue services. But when the rescuers rushed to the site they were unable to do anything and the flames were not extinguished until two hours after the accident.

The victims have still to be named and the experts are investigating the cause of the crash, which happened under poor weather conditions with low clouds and rain. Endi
