Human bones found during Warsaw Metro construction

Human bones believed to be from victims of a massacre in World War II have been discovered during excavations for a new subway station here.

The bones were found during the construction of Warsaw's second line of its underground train network.

Polish local media reported Friday that the remains are believed to be from a Nazi massacre, which took place in the Wola district of Warsaw in 1944 during the early phase of the Warsaw Uprising.

The Wola massacre was the systematic killing of between 40,000 and 50,000 people in the Wola district. Endit
