Two rockets fired by militants on Wednesday struck a diplomatic district in central Kabul, capital of Afghanistan, causing panic among the residents, a police source said.

"The initial investigations found two rockets struck areas in Shash Darak locality roughly at 7:30 p.m. local time, but leaving no casualties," the source told Xinhua anonymously. (Afghanistan-Rocket Attack)

RIYADH -- A Saudi court on Wednesday sentenced to death three Saudi people from the restive Qatif region in eastern the kingdom over terrorism charges, Al Arabiya News reported.

A fourth man was sentenced to 12 years in jail. The four were convicted with joining an extremist group in Qatif, using arms, attacking police and a prison headquarters. (Saudi-Terrorism)

WARSAW -- In Rudna copper mine in southwestern Poland the rescue team found last three bodies of miners, bringing the death toll of Tuesday's earthquake to eight, said Pawel Markowski, director of the mine's operator KGHM.

NEW YORK -- Oil prices surged on Wednesday after the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) clinched a deal to cut production for the first time in eight years in an effort to stabilize market.

The OPEC oil cartel defied public expectations Wednesday and agreed to lower its output by 1.2 million barrels per day to 32.5 million barrels per day, effective from Jan. 1 for six months. (US-Oil) Endi
