Xinhua, November 30, 2016 Adjust font size:

Approximately 43.7 million people had jobs in Germany in October, official data showed on Wednesday.

Compared with October 2015, the number of employed people increased by 359,000, according to provisional calculations of the Federal Statistical Office Destatis.

Destatis also reported that around 1.7 million people were unemployed in October, 118,000 fewer than October last year.

"Although employment continued to rise, it did so at a slower pace than during the individual months of the first half of the year when the year-on-year increase rates ranged between 1.1 percent and 1.3 percent," Destatis noted. Endit
