Spanish police arrest two suspected jihadists

Spanin's Interior Ministry confirmed on Wednesday the arrest of two suspected jihadists.

Both suspects were Moroccan men. One was detained in the town of Aranjuez to the south of Spain's capital city Madrid and the other in Irun, a town in northern Spain which borders France.

The man detained in Aranjuez acted alone, and indoctrinated himself to commit terrorist acts, according to Spanin's Interior Ministry.

Some of the videos and publications he viewed are reported to have contained references to "suicide attacks by young jihadists."

The man arrested in Irun, who was said to be "highly radicalized", had previously attempted to travel to Syria to join the Islamic State.

The total number of people detained on suspicion of jihadism in Spain has now risen to 170 since June 2015, when the country raised its anti-terror threat level to four out of a scale of five. Endit
