Snowstorm disrupts road traffic in NE China

Xinhua, November 30, 2016 Adjust font size:

Ten highways in northeast China's Liaoning Province have been closed or have restricted traffic due to snowstorms.

Sections of major expressways, including the Beijing-Harbin and Changchun-Shenzhen routes, are among those suspended, according to the provincial traffic department.

Alerts have been issued for freezing roads and snowstorms in Shenyang, Anshan, Fushun and Benxi since Tuesday evening.

Further snow is forecast in provincial capital Shenyang, which may interrupt traffic there.

The Shenyang Taoxian International Airport is open, with some flights delayed for de-icing. Endi
