A delegation of Iceland men's national football team on Tuesday showed satisfaction with the preparatory work for the first China Cup international football championship to be held in Nanning, the capital city of South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

"Impressive. The pitch (of the Guangxi Sports Center Stadium) is great. The layout of the stadium and the training ground are also very good. We are looking forward to the tournament," Iceland manager Gunnar Gylfason said.

When asked about China new coach Marcelo Lippi, Gylfason said, "He's a big name, but it's always funny to play football with strong teams."

"We will gather our team about two or three days before the tournament. I don't think players like Sigurdsson will come to China, as the Premier League is still on-going, but we will bring a strong team here," Gylfason said.

Croatia and Chile will also participate in the China Cup. Speaking about these two teams, Gylfason said, "They are both strong opponents. We are quite familiar with Croatia, as we are in the same group in World Cup qualifiers. I don't know much about Chile, but they are very competitive." Endit
