Singapore stocks close 0.16 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 4.49 points, or 0.16 percent, to close at 2,879.14.

A total of 1.88 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.03 billion Singapore dollars (721.1 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 225 to 177, while 704 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 15.32 points, or 0.54 percent, to close at 2,874.65 on Monday. Endit
