The Michigan Board of State Canvassers on Monday officially certified that President-elect Donald Trump has won the state's 16 electoral votes.
The statement, released almost three weeks after voting day, showed that Trump had a 10,704 votes' lead over Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, in the closest presidential race the state has seen in 75 years.
As the last state to determine the outcome of the presidential election, Michigan confirmed Trump's 306 electoral votes, which towered over Clinton's 232.
This is the first time since 1988 the state has voted in favor of a Republican presidential nominee.
Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who received 51,463 , or approximately one percent of the votes, has pledged to apply for a recount in the state as "statistical anomalies" were spotted in the vote count process.
She is expected to hand in her request no later than Wednesday. Enditem
