Iran, Russia to lift tourist visa: spokesman

Iran and Russia will sign an agreement in the near future to remove visa requirements for travelers on package tours, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi was quoted as saying by Press TV on Monday.

"Iran and Russia are due to abolish tourist visa requirements under certain conditions but they have not signed and implemented (an agreement) yet," Qasemi said.

He said that many more steps must be taken before Tehran and Moscow reach necessary agreements.

Iran and Russia have stepped up their efforts to increase tourism cooperation in recent months. Endit
