The forthcoming World Conference of Banking Institutes (WCBI) in Lagos, Nigeria's economic hub is an avenue to showcase the investment potential of the West African country, an official said Monday.

Segun Ajibola, President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), who disclosed this to reporters, called for utilization of the forthcoming conference to attract foreign investments.

Ajibola said WCBI slated to hold in April 2017 in Lagos, holds a great potential in that it will attract more direct foreign investments to the state.

"It will also be an opportunity to showcase the hospitality potential and rich cultural heritage of the state," he added.

According to him, this will further improve the Internally Generated Revenue of the state as a tourism destination of choice.
