Israel's "A Quiet Heart" wins Grand Prix at Tallinn's Black Nights Film Festival

The 20th Black Nights Film Festival ended here Sunday with Israel's film "A Quiet Heart" ("Lev Shaket") winning the Grand Prix for Best Film.

At the closing ceremony and award gala attended by Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid on Saturday night, the Israeli film directed and scripted by Eitan Anner was described by the jury as an inspiring journey toward hope and courage, and Ania Bukstein garnered the Jury Prize for best actress for her role in the film.

Iranian director Narges Abyard was awarded the Jury Prize for best director for her film "Breath."

Jointly produced by Romania, Lithuania and Moldova, "Eastern Business" won the award for best actor for Ion Sapdaru and Constantin Puscasu for their roles in the film, and best screenplay for Igor Cobileanski for his script of the film.

From Nov. 11 to Nov. 27, the Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn,the capital of Estonia,attracts over 200 films. Around 1,000 guests attended the film festival, with France as the country of focus this year.

The Black Nights Film Festival was given an A-class festival status by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations in 2014, the 15th international film festival to be inducted into that category. Endit
