Nepal expresses condolences over loss of lives in China's construction platform collapse

Nepal has expressed condolences over the loss of lives in construction platform collapse in China's Jiangxi Province, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Saturday.

In their separate condolence messages to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang, Nepalese President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister K.P Sharma Oli expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members through the Chinese government while wishing for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident, the ministry said.

Sixty-seven people were killed and three others injured after a construction platform collapsed in east China's Jiangxi Province onThursday.

More than 60 people were working on the platform and another dozen were on the ground waiting to begin their shift at 7 a.m. local time when the platform of a power plant's cooling tower under construction collapsed in the city of Fengcheng. Endit
