Chinese-aid primary schools inaugurated in Laos

Xinhua, November 25, 2016 Adjust font size:

Four primary schools constructed with the assistance of China's Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD) have been inaugurated in Laos' central Vientiane province, a representative of the CFPD told Xinhua Friday.

CFPD Secretary General Xu Zhensui said at the handover ceremony that the school construction project has been completed with the strong support of Lao party, government and people and it's symbol of the sincere friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

CFPD will continue its contributions to Laos' education and public welfare to promote Sino-Lao friendship, Xu said.

Bounnhang, the representative of the Office of Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity, said at the ceremony that the schools would help improve the teaching environment in the area.

He expressed his hope that the project will promote the development of education in Laos and contribute to the friendly relations of the two countries.

CFPD has invested some 1.5 million U.S. dollars to build six primary schools in Lao remote areas.

The mission of CFPD is to support Chinese NGOs in participating in international exchanges and cooperation, organize international charity activities and promote world peace and development, as well as common prosperity. Endit
