Saudi border city hit by projectile attacks from Yemen, no injuries

Xinhua, November 25, 2016 Adjust font size:

Saudi border city Al-Tuwal was hit on Friday by 11 projectiles from Yemen, while no injuries were reported, according to Al Arabiya local news.

The Saudi-led coalition responded by destroying the launchers of Houthi militias in Yemen and preventing the Houthis from marching to a village of south Dhahran.

The clashes led to the death of a Saudi soldier and tens of Yemeni rebels, according to the report.

The escalation from both sides comes with the end of 48-hour ceasefire on Monday. The coalition blamed Houthis for not renewing the truce for violating the ceasefire rules.

The truce was enforced to allow the entry of humanitarian aid for Yemenis who have been suffering since the beginning of war in Yemen in 2015. Endit
