Xinhua, November 25, 2016 Adjust font size:

Cambodia on Friday rolled out its red carpet for Laos National Assembly president Pany Yathotou on her official visit to the kingdom to further enhance bilateral ties and cooperation.

Pany was welcomed by Cambodian National Assembly president Samdech Heng Samrin with a brass band and guard of honour before the two top legislators held talks, focusing on ways to broaden cooperation between the two legislative bodies.

"Both sides reiterated their commitment to continue enhancing cooperation between the two National Assemblies for mutual benefits," Keo Piseth, a spokesman for Samrin, told reporters after the meeting.

"They also vowed to help boost relations between the two countries in economics, trade, investment and tourism," he added.

According to the spokesman, they also agreed to help promote the development along the border of the two countries.

Pany arrived here Friday morning for a three-day visit. She is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, Senate president Samdech Say Chhum, and Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen on Saturday. Enditem
