Xinhua, November 25, 2016 Adjust font size:

Czech people's confidence index on the country's economy rose by 1.8 points to 99.3 points in November, the highest since May 2008, data indicated on Thursday.

According to data released by the Czech Statistical Office, after a growth of five consecutive months, the index reached the highest since May 2008, when it reached 100.2 points.

Among entrepreneurs, the confidence index increased 2.3 points, the customers' confidence index decreased 1 point. However, the economic confidence index of the two groups both showed a year on year growth, according to data from the Czech Statistical Office.

The results of the opinion pull show that companies and customers are optimistic about the future economic developments in the Czech Republic.

The economy growth in Czech experienced a strong coming back in 2015, and there is no sign of a slowdown in the current economy growth, said Petr Dufek, analyst of Czechslovak Commercial Bank (CSOB).

He said the favorable development of the Czech economy is largely determined by foreign demand. In November, Germany's business confidence index reached its highest level in recent two and a half years. Endit
