The following are highlights of South African major news outlets on Thursday:

-- Special anti-crime unit, the Hawks, has confirmed that two of their employees were suspected to have worked together, allegedly sneaking into investigators' offices in Bellville near Cape Town to steal crime scene exhibits, which one of them then went on to sell.(News24).

-- SA Revenue Service (SARS) Commissioner Tom Moyane said a team has been established to assist in a police case regarding SARS employees involved in alleged criminal activities.

This is according to a letter he wrote to Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan on Tuesday, after the minister requested clarification on the emergence of the team following reports in the media.(Fin24).

-- The Reserve Bank's Monetary Policy Committee will on Thursday announce its final interest rate decision for the year.
