U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's administration will not further probe into his former Democratic rival Hillary Clinton over her private email server use, a top aide to Trump said Tuesday.

The new administration will also not open any investigation into foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation when Clinton was secretary of state in the Barack Obama administration, said the top aide. (US-Trump)

SANTIAGO -- Chilean President Michelle Bachelet on Tuesday said her country wants to join the China-initiated Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) at the earliest date possible.

Bachelet made the remarks when meeting with visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping who arrived in Santiago on Tuesday afternoon for a state visit.

NICOSIA -- Officials and laymen in Cyprus expressed deep disappointment and concern on Tuesday following the breakdown of the latest round of Cypriot peace negotiations against all expectations.

The United Nations (UN), which brokers the reunification negotiations, announced in the early hours of Tuesday that the leaders of the Greek and Turkish Cypriot communities had failed to achieve the necessary convergences on criteria for territorial adjustments that would have paved the way for the last phase of the talks. OSLO -- There are no longer visible flames or smoke at the site of the fire on board a drilling rig in the Norwegian Sea and the situation is under control, Norwegian oil and gas company Statoil said Tuesday.

The company said earlier that the fire was reported at 5:30 p.m. (1630 GMT) in an engine room on board the drilling rig Scarabeo 5, which is located at the Njord field in the Norwegian Sea, and all the 106 personnel on board have been accounted for. (Norway-Drilling rig-Fi
