Labor action may disrupt Helsinki airport on coming Thursday

Xinhua, November 23, 2016 Adjust font size:

Outgoing passengers may experience delays at the Helsinki-Vantaa airport on Thursday afternoon as security screening will be affected by labor action, local media reported on Tuesday.

Members of the Finnish Air Transport Union (IAU) will arrange the stoppage due between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. (1200 GMT to 1300 GMT), according to the reports.

The upcoming action seems to be triggered by alleged hampering of unionization by Airpro, one of the companies that provide airport services.

The timing hits the core departure and check-in time of Asia bound flights. Information about the exact duration of the stoppage varied in local media. Endit
