U.S. President-elect Donald Trump announced Monday that he will withdraw the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership on his first day in office.

"I'm going to issue a notification of intent to withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a potential disaster for our country," Trump said. (US-Trump-TPP)

MADRID -- Spanish Civil Guards on Tuesday confirmed the arrest of a man considered to be the financial brain in the Brazilian corruption scandal involving the state-owned oil company Petrobras.

The 43-year-old man, who has been identified as R.T.D, was arrested at a hotel in the center of the Spanish capital of Madrid in a joint operation between the Spanish Civil Guard and Interpol. (Spain-Brazil-Corruption Case)

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- Two militants were killed Tuesday in a gunfight in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, officials said.

The gunfight broke out at village Bonikhan-Hajin in Bandipora district, about 38 km north of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir. (India-Militants-Gunfight)

MOGADISHU -- A presidential candidate in Somalia on Tuesday warned of another postponement of the poll set for Nov. 30 citing what he termed as slow process of Lower House elections.

Jabril Ibrahim Abdulle who will be vying as an independent candidate said though the electoral body had not announced it was intending to postpone the poll, it was evidently clear that the Nov. 30 deadline would not be met. (Somalia-Election) Endi
