At least 10 civilians were killed on Monday by a U.S.-led airstrike on the country's northern province of al-Raqqah, the de facto capital of the Islamic State (IS) group, state news agency SANA reported.

The airstrike targeted a cotton mill in the village of Salhiyeh in the northern countryside of al-Raqqah, killing three workers and a displaced family of six as well as another person from the village.(Syria-al-Raqqah)

NEW DELHI -- The deadly train crash in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh has killed 145 people and injured 200 others, officials said on Monday.

The crash occurred following derailment of 14 carriages of the Indore-Patna Express train early Sunday near Pukhrayan town of Kanpur Dehat district, about 149 km southwest of Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh.(India-Train Crash-Deaths)

JUBA -- The UN humanitarian agency said on Monday that cholera outbreak, which began in South Sudan in June, has now surpassed the 3,100 case mark, with 3,145 cases and 44 deaths reported by Nov. 17.

The UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a report issued in Juba that communities along the River Nile are worst affected and account for 91 percent of reported cholera cases.

TOKYO -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.3 struck northeastern Japan's Fukushima on Tuesday, the weather agency said.

The 5:59 a.m. quake registered lower 5 on the Japanese seismic scale of 7 in northeastern Fukushima prefecture, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

Three-meter tsunami warning was issued and the first wave of tsunami was observed at offshore waters 20 km east of Iwaki city in Fukushima prefecture.(Japan-Earthquake) Endi
