Bayern's goalkeeper Neuer to miss Champions League encounter

Xinhua, November 22, 2016 Adjust font size:

Manuel Neuer will miss Bayern Munich's trip to Rostov after suffering from muscular problems, the German record champions announced in an official statement on Monday.

The Germany international will be cautionary sidelined by Bayern head coach Carlo Ancelotti as the custodian is plagued by a stiff calf. Neuer stays in Munich and will undergo a treatment in the coming days.

The "Bavarians" will clash with Rostov in UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, and have either Sven Ulreich or Tom Starke between the posts.

Midfielder Arturo Vidal as well as Javi Martinez are questionable for the upcoming encounter as they have returned just from injuries.

After four rounds of Champions League the German giants sit on the 2nd place of Group D, followed by Eindhoven and Rostov. Atletico Madrid leads the group with 12 points. Endit
