Lebanese president invited to visit Saudi Arabia

Xinhua, November 21, 2016 Adjust font size:

Lebanese President Michel Aoun received Monday a letter of congratulations on his elections from Saudi King Salman Bin Abdel Aziz, along with an invitation to visit the kingdom.

The letter was brought by visiting Prince Khaled al-Faisal, and he quoted Aoun as promising to visit Saudi Arabia after formation of cabinet.

Aoun was elected on Oct. 31 as the 13th president of Lebanon, ending two and half years of vacancy since the end of the six-year tenure of former president Michel Suleiman in 2014.

Al-Faisal arrived in Beirut on Monday, and is scheduled to meet with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Saad Hariri. Endit
