Myanmar authorities investigate supermarket blasts in Yangon

Myanmar authorities have investigated four small explosions which occurred at a supermarket in a township in Myanmar's Yangon Sunday evening, a police officer told a press conference here Monday.
The first two blasts took place at 5:55 p.m. local time (GMT 0125) while the second two in over five minutes later respectively at the plastic ware counters at upper floor and beverages and food counters at ground floor of the two-storey CAPITAL supermarket.
The explosions were identified as being caused by home-made chemical bombs using beverage bottle. No casualty has been reported in the explosions, said a mine expert.
The supermarket was reopened on Monday afternoon and the authority of the supermarket is cooperating with police force for the investigation, said Daw Thwe Thwe Moe, general manager of the supermarket.
The CAPITAL supermarket is one of the leading retailers in Myanmar which was established in 2008 by a local giant business group, Capital Diamond Star Group (CDSG). Endit
