The following are highlights of South African major media outlets on Monday:

-- The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) is holding what is seen as a crucial central executive committee (CEC) meeting where it is expected to take a decision on where it stands on the African National Congress' succession debate. This is according to an affiliate leader who did not want to be named. (News24)

-- The government will be informing ratings agencies on the "tremendous progress" made on labor stability issues in an effort to avoid a credit downgrade, said Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa. (Fin24)

-- The African National Congress has welcomed the release of the report of the National Economic Development and Labour Council (Nedlac) advisory panel on a national minimum wage, while the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) has reserved comment.
