The Ministry of Culture held a seminar on theater management for people from five African countries as part of efforts to train cultural sector workers from the continent.
A total of 14 people from Ethiopia, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia and Zimbabwe participated in the event, which took them to venues including the National Center for the Performing Arts and Beijing People's Art Theater.
In addition to watching classic plays and field study in theaters, the attendees were briefed on the management and operation of China's theaters, as well as the development of Chinese culture, according to the ministry.
They also visited the Palace Museum and the Great Wall during their training, the ministry said.
The 10-day event, which concluded Thursday, was part of efforts to honor the action plan adopted at the summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Johannesburg in December 2015.
According to the action plan, China and Africa agreed to strengthen human resources training in cultural fields and support exchanges and cooperation between cultural and artistic managers, artists and institutions. Endi
